1972 : Bernhard Willhelm is born in Ulm.

1994-1998 : Studies at the ROYAL ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS in Antwerp. During his studies he assists Walter van Beirendonck, Alexander Mc Queen, Vivienne Westwood and Dirk Bikkembergs.

1999 : the Label Bernhard Willhelm was founded together with businesspartner Jutta Kraus. First women’s collections is presented in Paris.

2001 : BW receives the Moët & Chandon Fashion Award.

2002 : the B-magazine invites BW as a guest editor for the second issue BW Atelier moves to Paris.

2002-2004 : BW is creative director for the first ready-to-wear collection CAPUCCI, Milan.

2003 : First men's collection Solo Exhibition at Art Foundation URSULA BLICKLE. BW works with curator Nikolaus Schaffhausen. At the occasion the book “Bernhard Willhelm

1999-2004” by Carmen Freudenthal und Elle Verhagen is published. 2005 : First prize of ANDAM fashion award, given by french cultural minister.

2006 : The first Bernhard Willhelm flag ship store based at PARCO in Shibuya, Tokyo opens. It's designed in collaboration with Cyril Duval. Frame magazine gives THE GREAT INDOORS AWARD for the best shop concept.

2007 : “black is also available in white” is the title of an exhibition in collaboration with artist CARSTEN FOCK in Berlin, Apartment Gallery and in Stockholm, Allmänna Galleriet 925.

2007-2008 : BW designes the costumes for the theatre play by R.W. Fassbinder “Die bitteren Tränen der Petra von Kant”, directed by Philipp Preuss, at the DEUTSCHES THEATER in Berlin.

2007 : Bw creates all outfits for BJÖRK’s WORLD TOUR 'Volta', including outfits for the brass band, flags for the stage and album cover sculpture, shot by Nick Knight.

2007-2008 : “HET TOTAAL RAPPEL” at the MOMU in Antwerp (2007-2008), retrospective of BW's work. The exhibition and the book is created with the artists Taiyo Onorato & Nico Krebs. Bookprice 'Best Swiss Book' award

2007 : at the ATHEN’S BIENNALE Bw presents the film “red rose pink donkey”, in collaboration with Dirk Bonn

2008 : Men's collection AW08-09 presented as film 'Men in tights' directed by Nick Knight, during NEW YORK fashion week since

2008 : shoe line “Bernhard Willhelm-Camper-together”

2009-2010 : Solo exhibition “Bernhard Willhelm Jutta Kraus” at the GRONINGER MUSEUM, The Netherlands, curators Mark Wilson and Sue-an van der Zijp, art direction Zana Bosnijak.
